Outdoor, Outdoor Markets, Shop local
Enjoy the arrival of autumn and stock up on fresh and comforting products in the farmers’ markets of Manitoba's bilingual municipalities!
Buy fresh products near you and support local producers at the same time! Stocking up at the local market rather than a large supermarket reduces your carbon footprint. The farmers’ market is both an economical and ecological choice! Here’s a guide to our favourite markets.
The St. Adolphe Market is a locally run market that offers over 60 vendors with a variety of fresh and local produce. The St. Adolphe Market is a non-profit organization that takes a portion of the vendors' fees and donates them to the community.
The next market will be held on September 15th from 10am to 5pm at St. Adolphe River Park, a family day with live music, children's entertainment and lots of fun!
See you on October 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the fall market at the Ste. Geneviève Community Centre. Local artisans, garage sales, campfires and even more fun await you!
St. Léon Gardens has all you need to keep the pantry stocked in fall: pumpkins, squash and other seasonal vegetables. St. Léon Gardens is particularly well-renowned for supporting local businesses and for its commitment to protecting the environment. Getting your groceries at St. Léon Gardens is a great way to satisfy your appetite while doing your part to help the environment!
Hours: Monday to Saturday from 9 AM to 7 PM; Sundays and Holidays from 9AM to 6PM
Without a doubt, the St. Norbert Farmers’ Market is one of the most widely known farmers’ markets in the province. Located in the bilingual community of St. Norbert at the south-east tip of Winnipeg, the St. Norbert Farmers’ Market features more than 1800 products from some 70 artisans and producers. You can find many excellent Francophone and bilingual artisans! We recommend in particular Ker Breizh’s stand, which serves delicious crêpes inspired by the owners’ homeland of Brittany in France, as well as that of Coco Kisses, which offers unique and warm home décor.
Hours: Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
A visit to Manitoba means travelling through Treaty 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 territory and communities signatory to Treaties 6 and 10, the original lands of the Anishinaabeg, Anish-Ininiwak, Dakota, Dené, Iiniwak, and Nehethowuk and the homeland of the Métis Nation. Its ongoing existence is thanks to these ancestors and their present day relatives who continue to love and care for the land.
