1.Surfside Beach Campground (Saint-Ambroise)
Camp, swim, and picnic along scenic Lake Manitoba. This summer, St. Ambroise Provincial Park is reopening its doors after many years of renovations. Be among the first to discover this gem of a destination! Information Surfside Beach Campground is a recently renovated campsite that is located in St. Ambroise Provincial Park, on the Southeast shores of Lake Manitoba. Attractions Surfside Beach has all the ingredients for an unforgettable summer for the whole family! Its unique location between Lake Manitoba and local swamp lands makes it a favorite spot for the province’s amateur birdwatchers. Its calm and shallow waters encourage relaxation, swimming and, when it’s windy outside, windsurfing! During the summer, live family entertainment is offered and there is a licensed canteen situated on the beach. Stay Each campsite at Surfside Beach gives a panoramic view of Lake Manitoba. Parc provincial de Saint Malo
2. St. Malo Provincial Park (St. Malo)
Information St. Malo Provincial Park is located in the RM of De Salaberry, right next to the bilingual community of St. Malo. Attractions St. Malo Provincial Park is an ideal destination for all varieties of summer vacations. Catch some sun on the shores of its two beaches or take advantage of its calm waters to go canoeing or windsurfing. There are also a number of interpretive trails in the park where you can explore the region’s unique wildlife and vegetation. Our suggestion: be sure to visit the park’s canteen, The Barefoot Cafe, where you can get a wide range of delicious snacks like ice cream, Japanese crepes, and burgers. Lilac Resort
3. Lilac Resort (St. Anne)
A waterpark with many waterslides, sites for RVs, and a host of activities: Lilac Resort is surely one of Manitoba’s premier family vacation destinations. Information Lilac Resort is located in the bilingual community of Ste. Anne, approximately 40 kms east of Winnipeg. Attractions With two pools, six waterslides, four hot-tubs, and a wading pool that opens to the beach, Lilac Resort’s waterpark is stunning. Lilac also has a wide variety of options for sports fans: a soccer field, a fishing point, three beach volleyball fields, and even more. Every weekend, you can also find live entertainment which will be sure to please the whole family! Stay Lilac Resort is open from April 15th to October 15th every year. Each campsite has a fire pit and a picnic table, as well as full service. There is also the possibility to rent cabins on a short-term basis. 4. St. Joseph de la Rivière aux Marais Municipal Campground (St. Joseph)
For those fascinated by our province’s rich history, you would be hard-pressed to find a campsite with more historical value than the St. Joseph de la Rivière aux Marais municipal campground. Indeed, the campground is situated right next to the St. Joseph Museum, which boasts some 19 acres of land and 24 buildings to help you discover the history of the region. Information The St. Joseph de la Rivière aux Marais campground is situated in the bilingual community of St. Joseph in the RM of Montcalm, about 100km South of Winnipeg. Attractions While staying at the campground, you cannot miss the St. Joseph Museum, a perfect spot for history buffs and families alike. The twenty-four buildings that make up the museum is divided into two zones: the agricultural village and the historical village. Opened in 1977 to highlight the history of the region, the museum offers many unique collections like a tractor warehouse, a collection of old cameras, and the Perron House, which was built in 1865. Our suggestion: book a guided visit of the museum to make the most of your stay here. Stay The campground is open from May to September. It offers seasonal sites as well as day-use sites reserved for RVs and tents. Every visitor has access to essential services.
