Lorne Trail

A repurposed road in the middle of the Pembina Valley is one of its best kept secrets.

This portion of the Trans-Canada Trails crosses the Pembina Valley and the communities of St. Léon, Bruxelles and Somerset where Highway 23 once ran. Allow for some extra time in St. Léon to visit the wind farms that harness natural energy from the strong winds that blow across the Plains. Walk on the trail that runs along the village lake and sway to the sound of salamanders, which are especially musical in the evening and after a strong summer rain.
