FrancoFish is a CDEM initiative whose purpose is to promote tourism and ice fishing within the francophone communities of Manitoba. Economic Development for Manitoba Bilingual Municipalities (CDEM) is a non-profit organization. Our goal is to ensure the economic vitality of our member communities and Manitoba’s Francophonie.
With this initiative, we hope to open the wonderful sport of ice fishing to outdoor adventure seekers. We know how tricky it can be to get started, especially when you don’t have a mentor to teach you the ropes. We hope this beginner-friendly guide will assist you.
You can seek ice fishing lessons at Fort Whyte Alive with Prairie Gal Fishing (bilingual service available) among other locations in Manitoba. You will learn everything you need to know to get on the ice and catch your first fish, from auger handling to knot tying.
