Cinéma sous les étoiles
For the sixth year in a row, the Economic Development Council for Manitoba Bilingual Municipalities (CDEM), in partnership with the Alliance Française du Manitoba, Cinémental, and Freeze Frame, presents Cinéma sous les étoiles (Movies Under the Stars) from June 25 to September 3 2026. Cinéma sous les étoiles offers free outdoor screenings of French-language films with English subtitles at the St. Boniface Cathedral ruins. We are grateful for the support of our partners, without whose help the event could not take place: the St. Boniface Cathedral, la Société de la Francophonie Manitobaine, L’Institut français, La Liberté, Envol 91 FM, and Heritage Canada funding support.
Just like last year, this edition of Cinéma sous les étoiles is part of Jeudis Franco Thursdays, which celebrates St. Boniface as the hub for arts and culture every Thursday this summer!

For the best experience, we recommend you bring your own chair and insect repellent. Chairs are available at Patio 340 if needed. The Patio 340 toilets are accessible throughout the event.

In case of rain …
In the event of rain or high winds, the event will be cancelled and 233-ALLO registrants will be notified by e-mail before 2 p.m. on the day of the event. The CDEM also posts cancellations on social media.
