Anne"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Surrounded by rich farmland to the west, the boreal forest to the east and with the Seine River running through the middle of town, Ste. Anne-des-Ch\u00eanes is located along the historic Dawson Trail, about 40 kilometres east of Winnipeg.<\/p>\n<p>Ste. Anne-des-Ch\u00eanes was the first parish established in Manitoba in 1856. It might be surprising to know that Ste. Anne supplied the lumber for the construction of the St. Boniface Cathedral.<\/p>\n<p>In the winter, come to the Ste. Anne Winter Carnival on the last weekend in January. It features fun for the whole family, including a social night, a dance, curling, hockey, children\u2019s crafts, and a snow sculpture contest.<\/p>\n<p>In the summer, treat yourself to a visit to the Ste. Anne Farmers\u2019 Market with fresh produce, preserves, baked goods and other local wares. <\/p>\n<p>The village is also proud to present Dawson Trail Days over the September long weekend. The three fun-filled days feature fireworks, a parade, baseball, music and dancing as well as a kids\u2019 zone. Come and celebrate the history and heritage of the famous Dawson Trail!
