I am from Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, I lived all the time in a rural environment until I arrived in the city for work. I wanted to go back to a quieter place by doing an activity that I really liked, the management of a bed & breakfast. »

Gisèle Clark then looked for the right place to start her business. That brought her to Pinawa, an hour northeast of Winnipeg: “I’ve always loved the place, the nature and the calm of the place. And then I realized that there was no Bed and Breakfast in Pinawa. So I looked for a house and very quickly, on July 15, 2021, I moved into a large house to start my new life, “says Gisèle Clark.

Comfort, accessibility and local traditional cuisine

Gisèle Clark’s Bed and Breakfast, “Gs B&B”, now welcomes you in a comfortable and accessible place! This large house, consisting of three bedrooms, a kitchen and a shared living room, aims to be a family place as its owner explains: “I like to have connections with people, to talk about our stories while sharing a meal. I’ve noticed that since the pandemic, people are in need of connection, and so am I!  »

Gisèle Clark offers her customers a traditional cuisine that is local: “I was raised on the farm and my mother taught me how to cook with simple foods, while making the meals excellent. So, I really try to offer people a local cuisine that I master and that is authentic. Like for example the strawberries of Manitoba or the butter of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes. I want to offer local and natural products. There I will start making my own bread. I really want people to know that they can come without thinking about bringing food, toiletries. I even offer local soap with goat’s milk from Bruxelles, Manitoba.”

“In my B&B, I really want people to feel and relax as if they were at home. It’s friendly and I really leave the opportunity for people to come to the shared space. But people can also make the choice to stay in a part of the house where they can have complete independence, with their own kitchen. I also have a garage and room to park kayaks, boats or sports equipment. »

Space to enjoy nature and to do activities

Pinawa is really a place for relaxing in nature, while being a great playground for a large number of activities and attractions: “Whether in winter or summer, Pinawa, is a big town where you can enjoy nature, parks, river and the Pinawa Channel.”

“I can suggest several activities to people. It is absolutely necessary to do the hiking trail around the village, you can go golf, tennis, cycling. There is a swimming pool, and even a water park, Hoopla Island. And then there’s also Pinawa Dam Provincial Park. People can just look at nature, meet animals that are not afraid of them like deer. It’s amazing, because they come close to people without fear. They are confident and they are in a quiet environment. In Pinawa, we have this freedom and tranquility.”

A website created with the support of the CDEM

Since November 1, 2021, Gisèle Clark has opened the doors of her Bed & Breakfast and would like to thank the people who supported the project: “The Bed & Breakfast Association of Manitoba has helped me a lot with administrative paperwork such as insurance. And I would like to thank the Economic Development Council for Manitoba Bilingual Municipalities (CDEM), which helped me create the website of my B&B, which went live in March 2022 (1). With this cottage, I like to offer a place of exchange and sharing. Even if you are only passing through Pinawa, my door is open to everyone, to share a story and moments of conviviality.”

Information and reservations

Contact (204) 723-0286

[43,44
48
51,58,56,60
